India Summit to Discuss States’ Role in Country’s Economic Agenda

The India Summit 2018, organised by The Economist, will bring together experts from various fields to discuss the role of states in driving the economic and social agenda of the country.

The discussions will be steered around the economically, culturally and socially disparate collection of states and territories in India.

The event will be held on 25 October, in Mumbai, and will see the presence of prominent leaders like Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Congress leader and MP Shashi Tharoor. Business leaders and economic commentators including Kumar Mangalam Birla, Ola-founder Bhavish Aggarwal and NITI Aayog's Amitabh Kant will also speak at the event.

The speakers will discuss the roles of states in attracting investments, the ease of doing business, the state government's role in supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, among others.
