1. 12-Year-Old Mumbai Boy Stabs School Principal to Death for Scolding Him
A 12-year-old boy has allegedly stabbed his school principal to death in her house at Shivaji Nagar in Govandi for scolding him in front of his friends.
The victim, 30-year-old Ayesha Aslam Husuyae, had also been privately coaching the boy at her home for the past five years. The minor, who has been sent to the Dongri remand home, told police that his mother had asked him to borrow Rs 2,000 from Husuyae for her on Monday.
“After school, when he asked Husuyae for the money, she allegedly scolded him in front of his friends. The boy told us he felt insulted,” said a police officer. “He [boy] went to her house around 8 pm for tuition. He stabbed her with a knife he had been carrying.” Husuyae raised an alarm after which her neighbours took her to a hospital where she was declared dead. The woman lived alone after separating from her husband.

2. UP Man Kills Employer After He Refuses To Pay For Wife's Surgery: Police
The owner of a soda factory in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura was allegedly killed by an employee after he refused to pay for his wife's surgery, the police said.
The body of Dinesh Gupta was found in his factory on Sunday night after his family members informed police that he left home in the afternoon but did not return.
The incident had triggered protests by businessmen and traders who held demonstrations demanding the immediate arrest of those involved in the murder.
"The accused has been arrested. The iron rod, used for killing him, has also been recovered," Superintendent of Police Gyanendra Kumar Singh said.

3. Woman, Relatives Arrested For Killing Live-In Partner In South Delhi
A 25-year-old woman, her brother and a relative were arrested in connection with the killing of her live-in-partner in south east Delhi's Amar Colony area last week, police said on Wednesday.
Anita and her live-in partner Sunil Tamang, 28, used to stay in a rented apartment in Amar Colony area of the national capital. Sunil, who hailed from Nepal, worked as a waiter at a restaurant in Saket, they said.
The woman had earlier told police that she had gone to meet her friend in Greater Noida at 11:30 pm on 9 September. When she returned the next day around 2 pm, she found Sunil Tamang's body on the floor, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Chinmoy Biswal said.
Anita, however, came under suspicion after she tried to mislead the police and failed to give satisfactory reply about her visit to Greater Noida on the night of the incident, the officer said.

4. Delhi Man Reveals Involvement In 150 Chain Snatching Cases, Arrested
A man wanted in more than 150 cases of chain snatching has been arrested along with his accomplice in Delhi's Rohini, police said on Wednesday.
Mahesh Khatri, 24, who is also involved in 29 criminal cases including those of murder, sexual assault and robbery, was arrested along with his accomplice Mohit Bhardwaj, 23 on 13 September, according to a police official.
With their arrest, the police claimed to have solved more than 25 cases of snatching and robberies across the city.
On 13 September, a police team patrolling Rohini's Sector-8 noticed two suspicious persons on a black motorcycle approaching a gym at around 11:15 am. When they intercepted the suspects, one of them fired at the police party, the police said.

5. Chinmayanand Case: Arrest to Be Made Only on Ground of Solid Evidence, Says SIT
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the Swami Chinmayanand case said on Wednesday an arrest in the case would only be made on ground of ‘solid evidence.’
“The matter is being investigated and any arrest will only be made on the ground of solid evidence,” said Inspector General (IG) of Police Naveen Arora while speaking to media persons in Shahjahanpur on Wednesday. Arora is heading the SIT in the case.
The SIT is yet to arrest Chinmayanand almost two weeks after the woman had accused him of rape. The woman had also lodged a zero FIR (one that can be filed in any police station regardless of the place of incidence or jurisdiction) in New Delhi.
Arora also said the SIT would submit a status report of the case in Allahabad High Court on 23 September.

6. Pune: One Booked for Cheating Two People of Rs 6.5 Lakh
The Pune City Police has booked an unidentified person for allegedly cheating a 27-year-old woman and her friend of Rs 6.5 lakh by promising them admission in a postgraduate programme in gynaecology at Ayurved College in Hadapsar.
Police said that after the complainant was told in August that she would be admitted, the accused called her to Kalyani Nagar. He then allegedly accepted Rs 2.5 lakh from the complainant and Rs 4 lakh from her friend. However, later, he allegedly did not provide the promised admission or return their money.

7. Days After They Went Missing, Couple Found Dead in Lake
A 25-year-old engineer and his 20-year-old wife, who had gone missing on Sunday morning from their home in Wagholi, were found dead in a lake in Lonikand on Wednesday morning. Police said a primary probe points to suicide as the cause of death.
Police have identified the deceased as Mangesh Mhasu Nagare and his wife Priyanka. On Tuesday night, Mangesh’s elder brother Ganesh had approached Lonikand police and filed a missing complaint, saying Mangesh and Priyanka had left their house on Sunday morning without taking their mobile phones with them.
The family members searched for them for more than a day and then approached the police.

8. Man Arrested After 35 Years By Mumbai Police Over Fake Currency Case
Mumbai Police's crime branch has arrested a 63-year-old man who was on the run for 35 years for alleged involvement in a fake currency case.
Ibrahim Kallu Mansuri, resident of Palanpur in Gujarat, was arrested on Tuesday by Unit 10 of the crime branch, an official said.
In 1985, Mansuri was apprehended with 10 others at the Mumbai airport with fake Indian currency notes, the official said.
He was released on bail, and then became untraceable, the official added.

9. 2 Teachers Jump Off State Secretariat In Mumbai, Saved By Safety Net
Two teachers seeking funds for divyang schools attempted suicide by jumping off the second floor of Mantralaya, the state secretariat building in south Mumbai, on Wednesday, police said.
They were saved as they fell onto the safety net installed at the same level at the state secretariat, police said.
They had come to Mantralaya as members of a delegation of teachers demanding grants for the schools, an official said, adding both have been detained by police and are being interrogated.
The nylon safety net was installed outside the lobby of the building last year after a man killed himself at Mantralaya.
