“The main objective of the forthcoming visit of Prime Minister would be to consolidate the progress made in diverse areas such as economy, energy, environment, defence and security, and to intensify cooperation for the future,” the release said.

This could be a turning point in the US-India bilateral strategic partnership.

The highlight of the visit will be Modi addressing a Joint Meeting of the US Congress at the invitation of the Speaker of the US House of Representative, Paul Ryan.

He will be the first foreign leader to do so this year.

According to the ministry, Modi’s visit is lined up with interactions with CEOs of major US companies.

This will be Modi’s fourth US visit as the Prime Minister.
