The Enforcement Directorate will be sending a Letter Rogatory (LR) to six countries in order to access information on liquor baron Vijay Mallya’s financial transactions, said reports.
The LR will be sent to France, Mauritius, UAE, USA, Singapore and Ireland.
Meanwhile, two ED officials reached London on 19 July to submit their chargesheet and evidence against Mallya to UK Magistrate.
The investigative agency had last week said that Mallya had laundered over Rs 1,300 crore through 13 shell companies in the US, Ireland, Mauritius and France.
The agency has made this indictment against Mallya in its chargesheet filed on 14 June in the money laundering case involving a loan of about Rs 900 crore from IDBI-KFA bank.
The ED has also said that the 13 shell companies had no actual activities and were fully controlled by Mallya with former employees of UB group being its directors.
The agency said the only purpose of these firms were to either obtain loan or launder money.
The 57-page chargesheet or prosecution complaint, with voluminous annexures, was filed under various sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) before a special anti-money laundering court in Mumbai.
He has been in the UK since March 2016 and was arrested by Scotland Yard on an extradition warrant on 18 April this year. The CBI is also probing the IDBI loan fraud case.
