Five students of School of Media and Culture Studies at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) made a documentary, Caste on the Menu Card, explaining the situation on-campus.

While explaining the tension inside the campus canteen, the documentary sheds light on the social hierarchy that food and eating habits are subjected to.

The documentary was not allowed to be screened at the 12th Jeevika Asia Livelihood Documentary Film Festival on October 31.

The documentary, which has had the privilege of being screened across cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bangalore since January 2015, was denied an audience.

The documentary presents both the sides of the argument – the religious importance of cows and the importance of cows in the current times.
