Amid clamour for EAM Sushma Swaraj’s resignation over the Lalit Modi issue, over 60,000 tweets say #IStandWithSushma.

Sushma Swaraj, Minister for External Affairs, found herself in centre of a major controversy for helping Lalit Modi procure travel documents from the UK government. Lalit Modi is currently under an Enforcement Directorate investigation for his alleged involvement in the 2010 IPL scam.

With increasing demands for her resignation from the opposition benches, including the Congress party, the minister can perhaps find some solace in growing support for her on social media.

On Sunday evening, #IStandWithSushmaSwaraj was the top trend on Twitter.
