Venkaiah Naidu to Announce India’s Cleanest City on 15 February

A 73-city survey is getting conducted to arrive on the final result.

The cleanest city in this country is… well, you will have to wait till 15 February to know that. The Ministry of Urban Development on Friday announced that it will unveil the list of India’s cleanest cities after conducting a 73 city-survey which has been named as Swachh Survekshan.

The sole purpose of this survey is to evaluate the on-ground progress of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious Swachh Bharat Mission.

The following would be considered for this survey:

  • Strategy for Open Defecation Free town (ODF) and Integrated Solid Waste Management (SWM)
  • Information, Education and Behaviour Change Communication (IEBC) activity
  • Sweeping, door to door collection and transportation (of solid waste)
  • Processing and disposal (of solid waste)
  • Provision of public and community toilet seats
  • Construction of household individual toilets

Union Minister for Urban Development, Venkaiah Naidu will announce the survey findings.
