The David Cameron government in the UK has expressed hope that New Delhi will resolve the issue of outstanding payments to British companies involved in the 2010 Commonwealth Games before Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives for a three-day visit in November, reports Hindustan Times.
Responding to a brief debate in the House of Commons on Tuesday, foreign office minister Hugo Swire said he had raised the issue with the Ranjan Mathai, the Indian High Commissioner, and Britain would continue to press for a resolution.
