Two 17-year-olds were held on Sunday for allegedly raping a two-year-old in Delhi’s Nihal Vihar on Friday night, reports the Times of India.
The incident took place during a power cut at a Ramlila show when the two teens took the child, who knew them both, to a park. The boys took turns brutalising her, before leaving her at the spot and returning to the colony. Of the accused, one is a class 10 student at a government school and lives next door to the victim. The child did not raise an alarm as he led her away, as the boy was a frequent visitor to her house. The other accused is a class 8 dropout, who works in a factory.
After leaving the child in the park, the two even joined the child’s parents to look for her.
The Chief Minister of Delhi slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the rising number of such incidents in the city.
