Inciting a debate on the long-standing Ayodhya/Ram Mandir dispute, BJP chief Amit Shah on Tuesday said that a Ram Temple should be built in Ayodhya, either after a consensus or through court decision.
Addressing a media briefing in Lucknow on Tuesday, Shah also revealed that the party is yet to project a chief ministerial candidate for UP, which goes to poll in 2017.
Demanding accountability from the Akhilesh Yadav-led government for failing to take action in connection with the Mathura clashes, Shah lashed out at the ruling Samajwadi Party government, saying that the government is unperturbed with what has happened.
The Mathura violence is a matter of grave concern. BJP will launch an agitation against encroachment of land belonging to government and poor. UP government is creating roadblocks in the delivery of NDA’s welfare programmes like Kisan Fasal Bima Yojana.
He also reiterated that the present NDA government has “introduced a new scheme every 15 days for the past two years” and that they have brought reforms in both villages and cities.
Under Atal ji’s leadership the world said, 21st century belongs to India and now under Modi ji’s leadership, the world is saying the same.
Shah also sent out a strong message to BJP’s ideological affiliates, saying that statements made by the likes of VHP leader Sadhvi Prachi and Union Minister Sanjeev Balyan “are made in their personal capacity and do not reflect the viewpoint of BJP.”
Answering repeated questions about RBI governor Raghuram Rajan’s second term, Shah asserted that the “BJP has never said that Raghuram Rajan should be removed, if someone has said then its the person’s personal view.”
