The next set of Rajya Sabha nominations is likely to include names like BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, boxer Mary Kom, former MP and cricket commentator Navjot Singh Sidhu, screenwriter Salim Khan and Malayalam actor Suresh Gopi, reports The Times of India.

There are 12 nominated members in the Rajya Sabha and seven vacancies currently. The President gives the final nod for member nominations after the government’s recommendation.

The nominated members could strengthen NDA’s position in the Upper House. Suresh Gopi’s name is being seen as beginning of the process.
