The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a plea seeking the dismissal of a criminal case against the Gujarat Police in the alleged fake encounter case. The hearing has been scheduled for 11 March 2016.
Recently, a top police official Satish Verma, who was part of a court-appointed SIT to probe the killing of Ishrat Jahan, said that it was a fake encounter and rejected allegations that there was pressure on them by former Home Minister P Chidambaram.
