The police installed CCTV cameras at various spots in and around the Pathankot region of Punjab for better surveillance after security alert inputs.
After the Pathankot Air Force Station was attacked by heavily armed terrorists in January, it was decided that CCTV cameras be installed in nearby villages near border areas for better surveillance, the Pathankot police confirmed.
Meanwhile, the state government railway police (GRP) has fortified the 107 km long Pathankot-Amritsar railway track.
GRP said that after the terror attacks, several measures were outlined to protect the track.
At least 24 beats have been established on the track leading from Pathankot to Amritsar via Dinanagar, Gurdaspur, Dhariwal and Batala.
