Despite a court order and no permission from the Osmania University administration, students of the varsity are planning to go ahead with a ‘beef festival’ on December 10.
On Tuesday, students consumed beef kebabs and are proposing to go ahead with the festival, according to The Times of India. The organisers of the festival are also planning to appeal the sessions court stay order in the Hyderabad High Court.
Everything will go as per our plans. We have enough support from a lot of political parties to run the show.Musavir Ali, supporter of beef fest
The pork festival too will go ahead in the university, according to its organisers.

BJP MLA from Goshamahal Raja Singh had vowed to stop the ‘beef festival’ and said a ‘Gau puja’ should be permitted if the proposed ‘beef festival’ is allowed.
The Osmania University said on December 8 that activities unrelated to academics, including ‘beef festival’, ‘pork festival’ and ‘Gau-puja’, would not be permitted in the campus. The statement comes on the heels of a Hyderabad court ordering a stay on a ‘beef fest’ planned by the students.
“The primary objective of the University is purely academic and research-oriented. It is, therefore, informed to all the concerned including the teachers, students and staff of the University that activities such as ‘Beef Festival’, ‘Pork Festival’, ‘Go-puja’ etc., which are unrelated to academics and research, will not be permitted on the campus,” the varsity said in a release.
The varsity authorities and police have already denied permission to any festivities in the campus.
