A ruling Trinamool Congress worker was killed and five others were injured in a bomb explosion at a party office in the outskirts of Burdwan town on Wednesday. Four of them were admitted to Burdwan Medical College and Hospital and one was taken to a nursing home.
Kunal Agarwal, the Superintendent of Police confirmed the incident at Metal DVC area and said investigation has begun.
CPI-(M) worker SK Jami-ul entered the party office and threw a bomb before fleeing alleged Debnarayan Guha, General Secretary, TMC Burdwan.
He also added also claimed that Jami-ul would often abuse the TMC openly following which he had been called to the party office and cautioned.
Swapan Debnath, the state’s Small Scale Industries Minister and the president of TMC Burdwan district (rural), alleged that CPI-(M) goons had committed the crime.
