A day before second phase of elections in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Twitter. He took on Modi for not “assuaging the fears” of writers who have been returning their awards in protest.

Several writers, including Nayantara Sahgal and Ashok Vajpeyi, have decided to return their Akademi awards to protest against what they called rising intolerance.
While some have cited the Dadri lynching incident for their so-called disappointment, some others said the lack of action against rationalist MM Kalburgi’s murderers was the reason.
