A 23-year-old model was arrested by Mumbai Police on Saturday for running a prostitution racket from her Andheri (West) flat in Mumbai, according to a Mid-Day report.
Rekha Vaishnav would lure other models into her sex racket, which she carried out under the garb of running a production house called ‘VR Entertainment.’
The arrested model has acted in few low budget movies as well, and she lured struggling models to her office by offering them roles in low budget movies, and after taking them into confidence, she trapped them in the prostitution racket.DS Patil, Police Inspector from Versova Police Station
A police officer also said that the girls were brought from Gujrat and Dehi and prepared for nude photo shoots. Then she shared the photos with customers via WhatsApp and when the customer chose the girl, Vaishnav decided the amount to be paid.
Mumbai police busted the racket by posing as customers. The investigating officer from Versova police station said that names of many high profile customers have been found in documents recovered from VR Entertainment’s office.
Vaishnav has been booked under the Indian Penal Code section for 370 (Buying or disposing of any person as a slave) and under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA). Meanwhile, the two victim women has been taken into custody for rescue. (TOI)
