The Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday will call a high-level meeting to discuss the security issue of India-Pakistan World T20 match scheduled to be played at Dharamsala on 19 March.

According to sources, officials of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and visiting members of the Pakistan security team will participate in the meeting.

A two-member delegation from Islamabad arrived on Monday in India crossing the Wagah Border to review security arrangements for the Pakistan cricket team ahead of the T20 World Cup 2016 which commences on 8 March.

The security team led by Usman Anwar, director in the Federal Investigation Agency, has one representative each from the PCB and Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi.

The team will submit its report to the Pakistan government after reviewing security arrangements for the Pakistan cricket team in Dharamsala.

The decision on Pakistan’s participation in the World T20 hinges on the security team’s clearance report.

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had directed Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to dispatch a team to India to assess the measures adopted for the security of Pakistan’s cricketers.

Pakistan play their matches in World T20 from 15 March onwards although the ICC event starts from Tuesday with qualifying matches.
