Former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri’s family is demanding that all documents related to his death be declassified. The family claims that there is more to the death of Shastri that meets the eye. His son and Congress leader, Anil Shastru said that blue marks and white spots on his father’s body may betray signs of foul play and suspects negligence.
Speaking of the past, he said that there was a butler who was arrested and then released and was later untraceable. He also said that it was shocking coincidence that his personal physician and assistant also met with accidents. The former Prime Minister’s diary was also never found.
Shastri’s other son and member of the BJP, Sunil Shastri said that he had been requesting several former PMs to declassify the files. He is hopeful that Modi will act on his family’s request.
The demand for files are surfacing soon after the West Bengal government declassified 64 files related Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
