  • Maharashtra unit of Janata Dal (United) has demanded for a total ban on the sale and consumption of liquor.

  • Seeking to emulate Bihar government, Shyam Bhusevar, President of Janata Dal (U), Maharashtra, said that, “If states like Gujarat, Mizoram, Kerala and Bihar can ban alcohol consumption in their respective states then why not Maharashtra.”

  • Bhusevar has written to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to ban liquor consumption and sale in the state.
