An Israeli woman was allegedly raped by two men near Manali, Himachal Pradesh police said on Sunday. In her complaint, the victim said she was waiting for a cab on Saturday night when another taxi offered her a lift.
According to her complaint, of the six people in the vehicle, two sexually assaulted her, police said.
A medical examination of the victim has been conducted and the report has been sent to Mandi region of the state for expert opinion.
A case under section 376 (rape) of IPC has been registered and investigations are underway.
Since the victim is not familiar with the place, she did not have much idea about the vehicle and the accused. However, the police is hopeful of nabbing the culprits scanning the CCTV cameras footage, police said.
A massive manhunt has been launched and efforts are on to identify the vehicle and the accused.
