- Two militants were killed and one army man injured, bringing an end to the encounter that broke out between militants in the Tangmarg area of Kashmir’s Baramulla district, on Friday.
- Security forces had launched a search operation in Kanchipora village of Tangmarg, 35 km from Srinagar, following information on the whereabouts of two militants in the area, a police official said.
- Exchange of fire between the two sides had started at around 6.30 am between two militant reportedly affiliated to Hizbul Mujahideen and a joint team of the Special Operations Group, 2 Rashtriya Rifles and 163 CRPF.
