- Gangster Chhota Rajan allegedly used a fake passport and fictitious identity to escape the law, the CBI on Wednesday told a special court. In 1995, a Red Corner Notice was issued against him. To escape it, he used a new identity.
- The CBI argued to frame charges in an alleged fake passport case against Rajan and three retired public servants – Jayashree Dattatray Rahate, Deepak Natvarlal Shah and Lalitha Lakshmanan.
- Rajan was issued a passport in the name of Mohan Kumar, a non-existent person, in complete violation of procedures. Most documents recovered from him use the same name. The Election Commission confirmed no election card or address of the location provided by him exists. CBI has said there is enough evidence to put the four on trial.
