A 451-page report has pointed out institutional failure and inaction in Haryana during the Jat quota agitation in February, reports The Indian Express.
The report by a committee headed by former Director General of Uttar Pradesh Prakash Singh has not been made public even though it was submitted on 13 May. The report has come at a time when Jat agitators have threatened to resume their protest.
The report holds former chief ministers of Haryana responsible for “the tendency to centralise all powers in their office, thus eroding the powers of the administration,” the report claims.
After the report was submitted, the Lal Manohar Khattar-led Haryana government transferred four IPS and three IAS officers and suspended three officers of Haryana Civil Services and 10 deputy superintendents of police.
