A 14-year-old was set ablaze after she was allegedly gangraped by three youths on Thursday night on the rooftop of her house in Sriganganagar’s Rawla town in Bikaner, reported Times of India.

According to police officials, the girl was found by her aunt who rushed her to the local hospital who referred her to a government hospital given her condition.

The incident occurred at around 11 pm on Thursday. The trio then sneaked into her house around 5 am, only to douse her in kerosene and set her on fire, the girl told the police in a statement.

The girl’s grandparents were sleeping in the same house while the incident occurred. She had gone to the rooftop for some work when the three youths jumped from the adjacent house’s roof and forced themselves on her.

The victim said she did not report the incident as she was scared and went back down to the house without waking her grandparents up. The girl’s aunt lives in the same neighbourhood and heard her screams.

The trio has been identified as Vikki, Vijay and Sonu, who have been missing since Friday morning. A search operation has been launched to track them down.

The girl’s condition is said to be stable.
