The Common Admission Test, CAT 2017, is finally upon us and scheduled to be held on 26 November. The authorities have issued a list of instructions which the candidates should know to avoid any unpleasant surprises before the D-day.

To begin with, the examinee cannot wear any jewellery or items which contain metal. Before entering the examination hall, candidates will be scanned with metal detectors.

While, last year those who were taking the exam were advised to wear open footwear like sandals and chappals; for CAT 2017, candidates will not be allowed to wear shoes inside the hall and will have to take them out.

For obvious reasons, candidates cannot carry gadgets or mobile phones inside.

Several other instructions that candidates need to follow are:

  • Report by 7:30 am for morning session or by 1 pm for the afternoon one
  • Only admit card and a photo ID proof permitted
  • Applicants who have opted for a scribe should carry the Scribe Educational Qualifications Affidavit and photo ID proof for both

Good luck!
