Of all religious rituals, Dhanteras is probably one of the most favourite. It’s the day of dhan, and who can say no to wealth?
As the tradition goes, Dhanteras is the first day of Diwali – the beginning of the festive season. And people buy metal (read: Gold, silver, utensils) to lure Lakshmi into their vaults.
While the rest of the country celebrates Dhanteras (a special day that brings prosperity, happiness and good health) on Monday, for some (mainly people from Bihar), it arrived a day earlier. Congratulations!
We at The Quint got to thinking, what kind of dhan would some celebs buy on this auspicious day?
Nitish Kumar
Nitish ‘Hattrick’ Kumar – the crown king of Bihar continues to sit comfortably on his throne after throwing out all the “bahari”’ people. This is Nitish’s golden opportunity to buy some metal today, as metal is believed to kill negative energies (back-off BJP).
The political hero deserves a custom made gold sceptre, and a gilded crown with ‘third time’ embossed on it.

The moral of the Bihar election story is never underestimate Lalu! The election marks the comeback of Lalu Yadav. And he’s no ‘lullo’ – he’s our favourite chubby, droopy grey-haired neta.
The Grand Alliance of Lalu-Nitish burnt the opposition with Lalu’s famous lanterns.
This Dhanteras, Lalua at his witty best decided to buy lanterns for the BJP Karyakartas to light up their lives on Diwali.

Humans are greedy by nature, and with all the prem and dhan he has payo-ed from his filmy friends, it’s time Sallu Bhai makes some actual dhan.
With the film set to release on November 12, Bhai may decide to pre-book Prem Ratan Dhan Payo tickets from all the multiplexes to ring in some dhan to his account (and to make sure it’s a blockbuster hit).

Now why should Rahul Baba be left out from all the celebrations. He needs his share of the pie, after all, his party men are giving him all the credit and calling him the architect of the Grand Alliance. So sweet!
So RaGa decided to go and buy a simple thali (plate) to place and decorate it with all the credits showered on him for the Bihar victory.
