The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is out on a mission for a cleaner and fitter Mumbai. The BMC today inaugurated a new cycling track stretching from the NCPA (National Centre of Performing Arts) to Worli Sea Link. Mumbaikars can now use this to enjoy a cycling ride between 6am and 11am on Sundays. The ones who do not have a cycle but still wish to take a ride down the track, do not have to worry. The BMC has it all set for you - they have cycles, helmets and beverages which will be available on rent.

The Quint went live from the venue:

There are four points - NCPA, Girgaon Chaupatty, Haji Ali and Worli Sea Face - that you can use along the 22 km long track. The stretch will be only open to cyclists on Sunday mornings between 6am and 11am, after which the barricades will be removed for the usual traffic.

The project has been initially started for three months. A similar experiment for a cycling track was initiated at Carter Road a few months ago, but it failed owing to traffic issues.

Yuva Sena Chief, Aditya Thackrey, tweeted and thanked BMC for the initiative. Check out his tweet:
