Meet Srishti Bakshi, the woman who is on a mission to empower the naaris of our country. On Women’s Day, Srishti, the founder of Crossbow Miles, laughs at some of the basic conversations that happen at home which are so gender biased. “It’s as simple as telling your daughter to learn how to make a cup of tea. Why? So that she could impress her future in-laws.”
Srishti urges Indian parents not to focus too much on their daughter’s marriage. Marriage is not everything. “ A woman should only marry if she is happy and independent, not because her parents are forcing her to.”
(Hey there, lady! What makes you laugh? Do you laugh at sexism, patriarchy, and misogyny? Do 'sanskaari' stereotypes crack you up? This Women's Day, join The Quint's Ab Laugh Naari campaign. Pick up that beer, say cheers, and send us photographs or videos of you laughing out loud at buriladki@thequint.com.)
