Twinkle Khanna Is Ready To Shake Up Bollywood With ‘PadMan’

‘Pad Man’ is inspired by the story of A Muruganantham - better known as India’s Menstruation Man.

After making waves in the literary circuit, Twinkle Khanna is indeed making a comeback to Bollywood - but behind the camera. Mrs Funnybones and hubby Akshay Kumar took to social media to announce the first project under the banner of Mrs Funnybones Movies. Titled PadMan and written and directed by R Balki, the film is inspired by real life hero A Muruganantham - better known as India’s Menstruation Man.

Muruganantham is a social entrepreneur who invented a low-cost sanitary pad-making machine to help rural women who can’t afford or don’t have access to branded products. Akshay Kumar is reportedly essaying the role of the protagonist.

Twinkle is definitely hitting the ground running as she takes on the unconventional theme as her debut production. And considering how touchy our censor board is about such subjects, it would indeed be interesting to see how PadMan shapes up. Kudos, Mrs Funnybones!
