After news of Aamir Khan having been cast in the film Thug under the Yash Raj Films banner, we now hear Amitabh Bachchan will also be a part of the film.
If it turns out to be true, this will be the first time Amitabh and Aamir will star together on screen. The film will be directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya of Dhoom 3 fame.
Speculations were rife about Hrithik Roshan being considered for the role, but the Mohenjo Daro actor apparently turned it down. According to some reports even Deepika Padukone and Nawazuddin Siddiqui were in contention for the role which finally went to Aamir.

It will be interesting to see the two actors who are known for their remarkable choice of films throughout their careers act alongside each other. Thug is apparently based on Philip Meadows Taylor’s 1839 book Confessions of a Thug, which highlights the ‘thug’ culture of the time.
The makers are known to keep each of their projects under wraps till it gets rolling. Everyone associated with the venture has been told to keep mum till an official announcement is made. It is an ambitious project, no doubt.Source to Mid-day
