Sunny Leone landed herself in some legal trouble when she sang the national anthem at the opening of Pro Kabaddi League (season 4), a televised sporting event. A police complaint has been filed at New Delhi’s New Ashok Nagar police station against the actress for ‘mispronouncing words’ of the national anthem.
While Leone’s genuine and respectful performance was widely appreciated on social media, Ullas PR, the complainant took offence to it.

He also said in his complaint that the American-Canadian actress should have practiced the song well before singing it at a public event.
The actress took to Twitter to share pictures of herself rehearsing for the big occasion, a whole month in advance.
Facing her fear of singing in public, the actress told PTI that she was proud to have been given such an opportunity.

Actor Hrithik Roshan closed the sporting event by singing the national anthem, while Abhishek Bachchan did the same last year. The complaint against Sunny Leone ignores her respect for the nation that has given her the love and status of a Bollywood icon, and sadly makes nationalism look a bit ridiculous.
