Rumour mills are abuzz with stories suggesting that Aamir Khan has been dismissed as the ambassador of the Incredible India ad campaign, due to his recent remarks on intolerance. Clearly, these rumours have been put to rest with official statements, both from the actor, as well as the Ministry of Tourism. But who will be the next celebrity to step into his shoes? A source in the Ministry of Tourism confirmed the latest developments saying that Amitabh Bachchan is the ministry’s first choice for the job. But other actors like Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra are also being considered. The Modi government believes that Mr Bachchan is a non-controversial figure and like his association with Gujarat tourism has escalated the popularity of the state among national and international tourists, it is believed that he will bring the same results to the all India campaign.

Many rejoiced the acquittal of Salman Khan in the hit-and-run case, but the Maharashtra government informed the Bombay High Court on Thursday about its decision to file a special leave petition against the same, in the Supreme Court. Government pleader Abhinandan Vagyani shared that the SLP will be filed in January itself. The latest development on the case has been revealed by an official statement released by a division bench of Justice Abhay Oka and Justice Gautam Patel:

In view of this statement (of the government pleader), for the time being, we are not considering the implications of the observations made by the Single Judge in the said judgment and order about the major defects in the investigation.

It’s not the first time that Zayn Malik has dissed his ex-band, One Direction. The young singer is happy to have discovered the world of music all by himself and here’s what he told Billboard in a recent interview:

I genuinely enjoyed [the band] and did whatever I could to be myself within that, but it’s just not where I sit as a musician. The other boys’ taste was generally indie rock. It’s good music, but I don’t f— with it. That was never cool where I was from.
