1. Amitabh Bachchan Declines Pension From UP Government
On Tuesday the Uttar Pradesh cabinet announced that all recipients of the Yash Bharti Samman, the state’s highest honour, will be eligible for a monthly pension Rs 50,000 for life. The list of beneficiaries includes Amitabh Bachchan, wife Jaya Bachchan and son Abhishek Bachchan. But soon this announcement, Big B issued a statement making it clear that he won’t be accepting the state goverment’s generous offer.
Whereas I respect the UP Govt’s honour of the Yash Bharati Award to members of my family, and their decision as per reports in the press, for providing pension of Rs 50, 000 per month to each recipient, I am requesting the UP Govt., with all humility, to redirect the entire amount designated for my family towards any noble charitable scheme or cause that benefits the poor and the needy. I shall be writing to the Chief Minister in this regard, in a separate communication.

2. Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar Are Back Together
The Dum Laga Ke Haisha couple Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar are coming back together on the big screen soon. The duo will be featuring in director Aanand L. Rai’s production, which is likely to be directed by Sameer Sharma of the Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana fame. After her first film Bhumi Pednekar has gone through a total makeover and has lost all the weight that she had put on for her debut film. The extra kilos are gone but we hope the spark remains!

4. A 90 Minute Sherlock Special Expected to Get a Theatrical Release in China
On Wednesday, BBC Worldwide said that the upcoming 90-minute special episode of hit drama Sherlock is ‘expected’ to be released in cinemas in China. This piece of news reports a broader deal between BBC Worldwide and China’s Shanghai Media Group, which on Wednesday, also unveiled a partnership to co-produce a feature documentary with the working title Earth: One Amazing Day. 5. Sandra Bullock Says She Talks to Her Son Louis About Racism
It’s common knowledge that racism is a huge issue in the US. Hollywood star mom Sandra Bullock has even discussed this issue with her son Louis Bardo Bullock. In an interview with BET, the actress admitted to keeping her son informed about issues like racism, that he may face on the basis of his skin color.
It’s an open conversation we have. He fully understands what that means. He doesn’t understand why people judge each other based on the colour of their skin, but he knows that they do. He also knows there’s sexism, he knows that there’s homophobia.
