3. Box-Office: ‘Dear Zindagi’ Mints Over Rs 30 Cr During the Weekend
Gauri Shinde’s Dear Zindagi seems to have broken the curse of demonetisation on the Bollywood box-office. The film’s collections have been growing over the weekend and it has now earned about Rs 32.50 crore in the domestic market. Here’s what the Alia Bhatt-Shah Rukh Khan-starrer’s 3 day figures are:
- Friday: Rs 8.75 crore
- Saturday: Rs 11.25 crore
- Sunday: Rs 12.50 crore
- Total: Rs 32. 50 crore
According to reports, the worldwide collections of the film are about Rs 27.45 crore and it’s having an excellent run overseas, especially in the USA and UAE.
These are excellent figures considering that the film saw a limited release in 1200 screens in India and about 800 screens abroad.

The actress would have never thought her innocent comments on CISCE's (Council For the Indian School Certificate Examinations) decision to include the Harry Potter series in junior and middle school syllabus would generate so much traction. Rather, so much humour!
Shetty was quoted in the newspaper as saying, "Books like Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter as part of the syllabus is a great move because it cultivates imagination and creativity at a young age. They should include books like Little Women, as it encourages respect towards women at a young age. Even a book like Animal Farm can teach the little ones to love and care for animals."
