1. Priyanka Apologises For Insulting Refugees On Her Vest

Priyanka Chopra has apologised after her cover on Conde Nast Traveller magazine was termed “insensitive”.

Soon after the actress shared the cover photo on her Twitter account, many took notice to her t-shirt which had the words ‘Refugee’, ‘Immigrant’, ‘Outsider’ crossed out while the word ‘Traveller’ wasn't.

I’m really apologetic about sentiments being hurt. I have always been against labels. I am very affected and feel really horrible, but the message has been misconstrued. The magazine was very clear that they wanted to send a message about addressing xenophobia with labels.

2. SRK’s Witty Speech on Receiving ‘Global Icon of the Year’ Award

Shah Rukh Khan has been awarded the ‘Global Icon Of The Year’ (Male) this year. While the actor could not attend the event in person, he more than made up for it by recording his acceptance speech from Budapest.

In his signature self-deprecating humour, the actor began with saying he did not think he was an icon because “My dog at home does not think I’m an icon, my friends don’t think I’m an icon, my family doesn’t think I’m an icon.”

3. ADHM Gets Five Cuts, Shivaay Breezes Past CBFC With Just One

The Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has snipped and trimmed Aishwarya Rai and Ranbir Kapoor’s intimate scenes in Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in five places. According to Hindustan Times and Bollywood Life, the board objected to some steamy moments between the actors.

Karan attended the censor viewing to make sure the film wasn’t tampered with. However the censor board members — while appreciating the film’s mature theme and aesthetics — objected to some steamy moments between Aishwarya and Ranbir. Karan argued that the scenes were integral to the plot, but finally gave in to the board’s adamant demands.

The film finally got a U/A certificate. On the other hand, Shivaay has breezed through only one cut.

Shivaay went for screening on Thursday after Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was passed by the CBFC on Wednesday. Ajay Devgn has been at the Walkeshwar office of the Board for the last few days. Only the kiss and the lovemaking scene (in the transparent tent hanging from a cliff) between Ajay and Erika Kaar has been trimmed a bit. The Board further felt that the film should get a U certificate as there was nothing else to warrant cuts. Even the violence and action scenes are not of the gory kind. It being a Diwali release, Ajay has made the film keeping family audience in mind.

4. MAMI Will Not Screen Pakistani Classic Following Protests

Priyanka Chopra apologises for insulting refugees on her vest; SRK gives a witty acceptance speech and more stories.
Jago Hua Savera was selected for screening at the Festival De Cannes 2016.

After a city-based social organisation threatened to protest against the upcoming MAMI Mumbai Film Festival for screening Pakistani film Jago Hua Savera, the organisers have decided not to showcase the movie.

The outfit, Sangharsh, had accused the organisers of playing with the nationalist sentiment of people of India, at a time of tension with Pakistan after the Uri terror attack.

They had also sought police permission to protest over the screening of the 1958 Pakistani film at the 18th Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival with Star, which begins from 20 October.

Given the current situation, the Jio MAMI 18th Mumbai Film Festival with Star has decided not to programme Jago Hua Savera as part of the Restored Classics Section.
