Salman Khan’s legal troubles are far from over. While he remains stuck in the infamous hit-and-run and black buck cases, the actor now has Vijay Galani’s sue to worry about as well. The Veer (2010) producer Vijay Galani has filed a case of defamation worth Rs 250 Crore against the Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor for harassing him over the non-payment of dues. Galani has accused Khan of alleged misconduct in professional behaviour, causing the producer mental agony and damage to his reputation in the industry.

According to industry reports, Galani recently spoke out against Khan.

I agreed to give Salman a signing amount of Rs 10 Crore for Veer (2010). Besides this, we agreed that Salman would get Rs 15 Crore if and when there is an overflow (profits made by the film). Salman completed the film happily. And I sold the film to Eros Entertainment. Eros, Salman and I drew up a tri-party agreement that the first overflow amount of Rs 15 Crore would go to Salman.

The film bombed at the box office but Salman’s office allegedly sent Galani a letter demanding a copy of the original agreement, hinting at his pending claim to the film’s profits nevertheless.

The most interesting thing about this letter was that on the night before I received it, I was at Salman’s place laughing and joking as usual. He mentioned that his new business manager was sending me a letter and I should just ignore it. Then in April I received another letter stating that Salman finds the Rs 15 Crore overflow agreement to be unacceptable. This, after everything being on paper. We were working together for two years and he never mentioned he had any problem with the agreement’s terms. What made him have a problem with the overflow suddenly?

Galani also alleged that The Cine & TV Artistes Association (CINTAA) initially gave a ruling in his favour but later when Salman got upset with them for doing so, the members issued a non-cooperation letter against Galani to please the actor. Galani claims that the letter was completely invalid and baseless. The court has now ruled in Galani’s favour and issued a stay on CINTAA’s non-cooperation letter.

Following this, Galani has filed a Rs 250 Crore defamation case claiming that he has suffered enough financial and mental damage, thanks to the actor.

I cannot tell you what I’ve gone through during the last three years. The mental agony and money spent on lawyers has left me drained. I’ve filed a Rs 250 Crore defamation case against Salman for mental agony, harassment and loss of face. Who will return the 3 years that I’ve lost?
