When Katy Perry tweets “miss you baby” to her biggest rival Taylor Swift, you know that something ain’t right. Well, that was the evil plotting of a hacker. Katy Perry’s Twitter account, which has a whopping 89 million followers, was recently hacked into. Strange tweets were sent out from her account confusing the superstar artist and her fans alike. What started with a mushy message to Taylor Swift, went on to becoming a spamming spree full of profanity and racial slurs. Perry’s team came to her rescue quite quickly and the tweets were deleted as soon as they realised that this was a mean hacker at work.
The culprit seems to be a Twitter pro based in Romania by the name of @sw@ylol. The hacker also tweeted a link to a SoundCloud song supposedly sung by Katy Perry, which was taken down as soon as Universal Music Group noticed the copyright violation.
While Taylor Swift might be having a good laugh, Katy Perry is sure to not forget waking up to the feeling of being ‘hacked’!
