Akshay Kumar has reportedly approached the cyber police station at Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), alleging that his old video has been edited to make it appear as if those are his views on Tanushree Dutta and Nana Patekar controversy. According to a report in Hindustan Times, police officers as well as Akshay’s spokesperson confirmed about filing the complaint on Friday.

The edited video went viral on social media platforms. According to sources, Akshay’s complaint states that the video was taken during a media interaction where he was asked about another actor but it was edited in a way that it appears as if he’s speaking against Tanushree Dutta.

“The narrative of the video was edited in a way that it looks like Kumar is expressing his views on the Dutta-Patekar controversy, which he never did,” said an officer to HT.

“We tried to search the video on YouTube, but could not get it; probably it was blocked or removed. We have asked him to produce a copy of the video. The inquiry is going on,” said an officer.

According to HT, an officer said the person who uploaded the video may face action under the Indian Penal Code and Information Technology Act.
