The critics haven’t minced their words about what exactly they thought of this week’s big release, Brothers. The film is being rated way below expectations by all major film critics, some of them giving it just one and a half stars.
No doubt, it’s a major attraction at the box-office as it stars Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra together. Also, the marketing buzz generated by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Kareena Kapoor’s item song will ensure that Brothers gets a good opening.
Even if one tries to average out the overall credible reactions that’s out in the media, it’s clear that the film is bad. One of the critics who saw the press screening says that the invitees were mostly laughing AT the film for its overtly melodramatic moments and cheesy lines.
But the Bollywood frat can’t exactly speak their mind after special screenings, so here’s a sample of how the industry has to lie through their teeth every other week:
It’s definitely not an enviable position to be in, when you walk out of the industry screening of a film you didn’t think much of, but have the team waiting outside to hear your reaction. You just have to praise it sky high, after all it’s all about loving your family, filmi family hi sahi!
