The Shah Rukh Khan thriller Fan has crossed the Rs 50 Crore mark in its first weekend at the box-office. The film’s highest collection of Rs 19.20 Crore came in on opening day itself (April 15th). Though the cash register saw a slight dip on day 2 (Saturday) with collections reaching Rs 15.40 Crore, but the film made up for it on Sunday with Rs 17.75 Crore coming in.
While Sunday collections were still less than opening day, the SRK starrer’s nett India earnings sit comfortably at Rs 52.35 Crore.
On the other hand, Disney’s The Jungle Book is having an amazing run in India. Jon Favreau’s live-action tale has joined the prestigious 100 Crore club, and has now become the third highest Hollywood grosser ever in India, after Fast & Furious 7 and Jurrasic World. On Sunday, the film made Rs 10.67 Crore, which took its total India collection to Rs 101.82 Crore.
