1. The Inimitable Shashi Kapoor Passes Away at 79

Shashi Kapoor breathed his last in Mumbai on 4 December. The veteran actor was 79. He had been hospitalised at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. According to reports he was administered several rounds of dialysis while at the hospital.

"Yes, he has passed away. He had a kidney problem and was on dialysis for several years," his nephew Randhir Kapoor, the son of the late Raj Kapoor, told PTI.

Randhir Kapoor said the funeral would be held tomorrow morning.

"Shashi Kapoor expired at 5.20pm on December 4 at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai," Dr Ram Narain from the hospital told PTI.

Shashi Kapoor is survived by his sons Karan and Kunal, and daughter Sanjna. Kapoor got married to English actor Jennifer Kendal in 1958, who unfortunately died of cancer in 1984.

Having acted in over 175 films, actor Shashi Kapoor made the line, ‘Mere Paas Maa Hai,’ from Deewar , indelible for cinephiles. Tributes are pouring in from his contemporaries and fans.

An epitome of grace and talent, the actor and producer is clearly revered by Bollywood. They really don’t make them like him anymore. While Twitterati lamented the loss by terming it ‘the end of an era’, most senior celebs, like Raj Babbar and Shabana Azmi seemed too overwhelmed to tweet beyond a few lines. The younger generation, Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn, producer Riteish Sidhwani and even Pulkit Samrat promptly commemorated the handsome Shashi Kapoor on social media.

Actor Prem Chopra, who worked with him prolifically through the 60s, 70s and the 80s spoke to a television channel and offered his condolences.

5. Hrithik Roshan Is My Idol: Tiger Shroff

Tiger Shroff says working with his "idol" Hrithik Roshan is a dream-come-true moment for him and he will put in all the hard work needed to match up to him.

Backed by Yash Raj Films, the upcoming untitled film featuring the duo will be helmed by Siddharth Anand, who has worked with Hrithik in Bang Bang.

“I am most excited about working with him (Hrithik). I am so thankful that I got such an offer so early in my life. He is my idol. Whatever I am today it is because of what I saw of him while growing up,” Tiger Shroff told reporters at Star Screen Awards.
