Right after news broke that Priyanka Chopra had quit her ambitious project Bharat, with director Ali Abbas Zafar sending a cryptic message mentioning ‘Nick’, People magazine confirmed that Priyanka and Nick Jonas are officially engaged.
“Yes Priyanka Chopra is no more part of @Bharat_TheFilm & and the reason is very very special , she told us in the Nick of time about her decision and we are very happy for her ... Team Bharat wishes @priyankachopra loads of love & happiness for life,” Zafar had written.
Not everyone from Bharat’s team is ecstatic about Priyanka Chopra’s reported engagement with Nick Jonas. The grapevine is abuzz with rumours of Salman Khan being miffed with PeeCee. Salman Khan is also reportedly in talks with Katrina Kaif for the part.
According to Mid Day, Priyanka Chopra had been trying to convey the possibility of her opting out of the project to the makers since the past two weeks.

The announcement of Priyanka Chopra’s entry into Bharat was made with a lot of noise in April this year and it was supposed to be Priyanka’s first big Bollywood project after a 2-year-break. While welcoming the actor on board his film Bharat, Ali had said that Priyanka would bring in outstanding acting as well as incredible international appeal to make the scale of the film bigger and even more global. However, it now looks like Priyanka’s priorities have changed in the last few months.
The first shooting schedule of Bharat is already underway. Meanwhile, Priyanka has begun work on Shonali Bose’s The Sky Is Pink.
