Kangana Ranaut had a ligament tear while shooting an action sequence for her film Manikarnika in Jodhpur. The accident took place when Kangana was performing a shot in Fort Mehrangarh, Jodhpur, where Rani Laxmi Bai is shown to jump off a 40 feet wall with Damodar her child tied to her back on to a horse back. It’s said that, Kangana didn't land properly and in an attempt to save the child from any injury ended up hurting her ankle.
Kangana was taken to the city’s Goyal hospital immediately. This happened in the wee hours of Wednesday morning. An X-ray was done at the hospital and it turned out to be a ligament tear. Kangana has already finished all the major action sequences in the film in the last one month and this was reportedly the last dangerous stunt she had to perform.
The doctors have asked Kangana to take rest for a week and till then she has to keep the cast on her leg on. So, the actor flew back to Mumbai immediately to recuperate. The crew will resume filming with the actor as soon as her cast comes off. The team will continue to shoot the remaining war scenes which do not require Kangana’s presence.
A video of Kangana’s leg being bandaged in hospital was doing rounds on social media.
This is not the first time that Kangana has been injured on the sets of Manikarnika. The actor got a deep cut near her forehead while shooting for a sword fight scene earlier in July.
