2. ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ Director Laughs Off Plagiarism Charges

While the producers of the eagerly awaited Akshay Kumar starrer Toilet: EkPrem Katha about the pit-falls (pun intended) of open-air defecation are discreetly quiet on the issue of alleged copyright infringement, the much-awaited film’s young director Shree Narayan Singh is far from inert in his creative corner.

Known to work silently, Singh has emerged from the shadows to challenge documentary filmmaker Praveen Vyas’ contention that Toilet: Ek PremKatha is copied from Vyas’s short film Manini.

Vyas claims there are “striking resemblances” between his film and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.

Shree Narayan Singh laughs  off the allegation as nothing more than a belated attempt at arm-twisting.

3. ‘Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar’: Arjun Is Ready to Bolt With Parineeti

Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra are coming together after five years for Yash Raj Films’ upcoming project, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar. The film will be directed by Dibaker Banerjee.

Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar is the story of two people who are poles apart.

Talking about the project, Dibaker said, “This feels like my first film, again. I’ve had to unlearn everything I know to tell this story about a man and a woman who can’t stand each other, but can’t survive without each other.”

4. HC Gives Maha Govt 2 Weeks to Justify Sanjay Dutt’s Early Release

The Bombay High Court on Monday granted two weeks’ time to the Maharashtra government to file an affidavit to justify its decision to grant actor Sanjay Dutt’s early release from prison in the 1993 serial bomb blasts case.

Dutt was sentenced to five years in jail for possession of arms, which were part of a consignment used in the blasts on March 12, 1993, killing as many as 257 people and injuring over 700 others.

But now, actor Ankita Lokhande, more in the news for her ceased relationship with Sushant Singh Rajput, is ready to make a smashing debut on the big screen. She is joining Kangana Ranaut in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.

According to a report by Indian Express, Ankita would play a pivotal role in the film as Jhalkaribai, who was very close to Rani Laxmibai, often acted as her body double and was also a part of the queen’s army.
