1, Trolls Attack Priyanka’s Backless Sari, Tarun Tahiliani Defends
Many years ago Priyanka Chopra Jonas immortalised the desi girl look in Dostana. And now, she’s proudly carrying that label with her beyond the borders of India by appearing in a sari-clad avatar on the cover of an international magazine.
However, trolls were quick to attack Priyanka’s Instagram, making harsh comments about her backless sari photo. Some accused her of “killing elegance” with the shoot, others used words like “vulgar” and “shame”. One user also commented, “Saree is completed with blouse.... respect the attire pls.”
Designer of the backless sari that Priyanka wears on the cover of InStyle, Tarun Tahiliani, in an interview with Midday, came to Priyanka’s defence.

2. Ayushmann, Akshay & B’wood Condemn Murder of Toddler in Aligarh
Bollywood has reacted strongly to the murder of two-and-a-half-year-old girl, who was found in a garbage dump in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh on Sunday, 2 June. Initial reports have suggested the crime was committed as revenge in a dispute over money.
Celebs such as Akshay Kumar, Ayushmann Khurrana, Anupam Kher and Sonam Kapoor took to Twitter to express their rage at the heinous crime, calling for swift action against the perpetrators.

3. Rape-Accused Actor Karan Oberoi Granted Bail by Bombay High Court
Actor Karan Oberoi, who was arrested on allegations of rape and blackmailing, has been granted bail by the Bombay High Court on Friday. Granting a Rs 50,000 bail to Oberoi, Justice Revati Mohite-Dere came down heavily on the victim and police in the matter, said his lawyer Dinesh Tiwari.
The bail has been granted after a month since Karan’s arrest on 6 May.

4. Hrithik to Play Big B’s Role in ‘Satte Pe Satta’ Remake?
After news broke that Farah Khan had been signed on to direct a film for Rohit Shetty’s production house earlier this year, reports that she would be helming a remake of Satte Pe Satta began doing the rounds.
While it was previously speculated that Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar had been approached to take on the role played by Amitabh Bachchan in the original film, latest reports suggest that Hrithik Roshan has been brought on board instead.

5. Dharma Teases Horror Film, Is It Vicky Kaushal Starrer?
Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions on Friday 7 June shared a cryptic post on their Instagram page teasing a horror film franchise with more details to be announced on Monday. The graphic says “Dharma Productions is anchoring a new franchise of fear. 15 November 2019. Sea you soon!”
