1. Aamir Khan’s Painful Transformation for ‘Thugs of Hindostan’

Aamir Khan is well known to fall into the skin of his character, and so, has undergone some painful measures for his upcoming flick - Thugs of Hindostan. The actor underwent a permanent nose and ear piercing, and is now coming up with an altogether different look. The actor had earlier gone under an exceptional, physical, transformation for Dangal.

Aamir is reportedly leaving no stone unturned to do justice to his character in Thugs of Hindostan. The actor apparently went through some painful and sleepless nights, lasting almost a month, as the piercing is on the cartilage.

C’mon why wouldn’t he just settle for one of those clip on nose and ear ring? Well, because... perfection, of course.

Aamir's nose pierced look has already created a lot of intrigue. It would definitely be a visual treat for the audiences to witness Aamir in a never seen before avatar, let’s hope the film matches up too.

Salman Khan’s Tubelight received a lukewarm response on the day of its release on Friday as well as the weekend. Things haven’t improved since.

The film didn’t do well on Eid (Monday) which was a holiday. Tubelight has managed to rake in Rs 19.09 crore on Monday; which was lesser than each of the other three days.

The film has made a total of Rs 83.86 crore at the box-office so far.

Salman’s films, which release around the time of Eid, usually do good business. His 2016 release, Sultan, which released on Wednesday, earned a whopping Rs 180 crore over the long weekend.

Will Tubelight join the Rs 200 crore club?

Aamir in China.

Aamir Khan’s Dangal has gone ahead to make and break several records at the world box-office. The film is still going strong at the Chinese box-office, reportedly, making Rs 2.5 crore ($390,000). With it, the film has garnered a whopping Rs 2000 crore at the world box-office.

According to a report in Forbes, the film is looking at surpassing box-office records of several Hollywood films in China.

The Forbes report reads,

It (Dangal) stands alone as the leggiest film in Chinese box-office history with an opening day multiple of 86x. The closest contender to that record is Zootopia—like Dangal, incidentally, a film funded and distributed by Disney—but Dangal left Zootopia in its dust long ago when it surpassed the animated family film’s multiple of 69x.

According to a report in The Indian Express, Dangal has beaten records of films like Captain America: Civil War, xXx: Return Of Xander Cage, Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, The Jungle Book, Kung Fu Panda 3 etc and is looking to join the likes of blockbuster Avatar and Chris Pratt’s Jurassic World respectively at China box-office.

5. I Don’t Mind Hard Work and ‘Mom’ Has Been Worth It All: Sridevi

Sridevi in the film poster of Mom.

Interviewing Sridevi is never easy. As an ardent fan, my voice trembles and my questions collapse in her presence. While she tells me to calm down her husband Boney Kapoor laughs at my visible discomfort. She asks me to address her as Sridevi, minus the ‘ji’ with casual grace that she exudes effortlessly. I shoot my first question.

Q: Sridevi, at this juncture of your life and career, a film has to be really special for you to do it, right?
Sridevi: Absolutely and Mom is that special to tempt me to go back to the studios.

Q: Yes, I was wondering if you’d want to leave your domestic paradise for the hot sticky studios?
Sridevi: I don’t mind the heat or the hard work in the studios at all, as long as the film is worth it. I’ve been doing it since the age of 4. I’ve spent more of my years growing up in the studios of Rajahmundry, than doing what other girls that age enjoy doing. If I didn’t love the studios, I’d have given up by now. I don’t need to work any more.
