Anurag Kashyap might have received accolades for directing masterpieces like Gangs of Wasseypur and Dev.D, but now he's facing the camera too and to delivering hit performances.
Last seen as a villainous cop in AR Murugadoss' Akira, Kashyap will soon make his Tamil debut in the upcoming action-thriller Imaikaa Nodigal alongside actress Nayanthara.
The film is directed by Murugadoss' erstwhile assistant Ajay Gnanamuthu who approached the filmmaker to play the antagonist.
"When Ajay wanted to approach Anurag with the offer, it was Murugadoss who helped set up the meeting. Having worked with Murugadoss in Akira, Anurag took his word and gladly accepted the offer. He will join the sets later this month," a source from the film's unit told IANS.
He further shared that “Anurag will slug it out with Nayanthara, who will be seen as a police commissioner. It's going to be a very interesting role .”
