5. There’s Still Hope: ‘Pehredaar Piya Ki’ Loses Prime-Time Slot
After facing severe backlash for its questionable storyline involving a child marriage, Broadcasting Content Complaints Council (BCCC) has directed Sony channel to shift Pehredaar Piya Kifrom its prime-time slot 9 PM to the 10 PM slot.
It appears they have also asked the makers to add a disclaimer stating that they do not support child marriage at the beginning of the show. Pehredaar Piya Ki began airing last month focusing on a nine-year-old boy’s marriage to an eighteen-year-old after he loses a member of his family.
