Even as the National Commission for Women summoned Kerala Police chief Loknath Behra on Monday over the alleged abduction and assault of a popular Malayalam actor, Bollywood took to social media to question the safety of women in the country.

Actors like Arjun Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar took to Twitter to share their outrage over the incident.

Varun Dhawan retweeted Shraddha and Arjun’s tweets.

The actress was attacked by a group of men on Friday night. She was reportedly traveling from Thrissur to Kochi when she was abducted and assaulted. Incidentally, the three accused in the case have moved the Kerala High Court seeking anticipatory bail.
